Snowball and your privacy


Snowball's Privacy Policy applies to all companies within Snowball Group Limited (Snowball Capital Limited, Snowball Financial Limited, CIS Financial Services Limited, Campbell Wallis Moule & Co Pty Ltd and Snowball Investment Research Pty Ltd).

Snowball has always placed great emphasis on protecting the privacy of its clients. Snowball has recently completed a comprehensive review of its procedures to ensure that it fully reflects both the letter and spirit of the Privacy Commissioner's National Privacy Principles that became law on 21 December 2001.

Snowball's commitment to your privacy ensures that information given to us will only be used to provide you with the best possible service.

We collect only the personal information about you that is necessary to provide you with quality products and services. This information will generally be limited to:

  • Name, addresses and telephone numbers
  • Date of birth
  • Tax file number
  • Correspondence sent by you
  • Applications lodged by you, with marital status, number of children, financial goals

Snowball passes your personal information to other parties only in very limited circumstances. As you probably expect, the companies that act as Trustee and Administrator of the Snowball Accounts require information about our clients. Similarly, if you have taken out insurance through Snowball, the Insurer who underwrites your Policy must be provided with relevant information. In some cases the law requires that Insurers be provided with sensitive health-related information.

Snowball will only use or disclose your personal information for the purposes that you provided it, or purposes directly related to the purpose for which you provided the information.

We are not involved in the selling, trading or alternative unauthorised use of personal information.

From time to time, however, we may provide statistical information to reputable third parties. This will simply comprise data collected about you and other users to form aggregate results. It will not include any direct personal information that identifies you as our customer.

If at any time you want to know exactly what personal information we hold about you, you are welcome to access your record by phoning or e-mailing us at privacy@sno.com.au. Our file of your information will be made available to you within 14 days.

If at any time you wish to change personal information that is inaccurate or out of date, please contact us by e-mailing us at privacy@sno.com.au and we will amend this record. If you wish to have your personal information deleted, please e-mail us and we will take all reasonable steps to delete it unless we need to keep it for legal reasons.

All data transmitted via the Internet is protected by data encryption which meets world's best practice for financial services. Our use of digital certificates also guards against anyone attempting to impersonate us.
